Lela Maude Simmons was born in Eighty Eight, Barren County, KY on December 4, 1888. She was oldest of three children born to James Marion and Sarah Catherine Hamilton Simmons. Sarah Catherine Hamilton was the second wife of James Simmons with seven children born to he and Sarah Elizabeth Denham Simmons making him the father of 10 children all of which lived to adulthood. |

Lela Maude Simmons Branstetter died June 28, 1954 at her home in Glasgow, Barren County, KY. She was buried in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery in Glasgow. After his death April 6, 1967, her husband was buried beside her.  |
